Privacy Policy
Garland Inc. (the "Company") establishes this Privacy Policy (the "Policy") regarding the handling of users' personal information in the service Mute My Devil (the "Service") provided on this website.
1. Personal Information
"Personal information" means "personal information" as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information: information about a living individual that can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact details, or other description, as well as information that can identify a specific individual on its own (personal identification codes).
2. How We Collect Personal Information
The Company may ask for personal information such as an email address when a user registers. The Company may also collect payment-related information from payment processors and other partners.
3. Purposes of Collection and Use
The Company collects and uses personal information for the following purposes: to provide and operate the Service; to respond to user inquiries; to contact users as needed for maintenance and important notices; to identify and refuse use by users who violate the Terms or who use the Service for fraudulent or improper purposes; to bill users for paid services; and purposes incidental to the above.
4. Changes to Purposes of Use
The Company will change the purposes of use of personal information only where reasonably deemed to be related to the purposes before the change. If a change is made, the Company will notify users or announce it on this website in the manner prescribed by the Company.
5. Provision to Third Parties
Except in the following cases, the Company will not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the user's consent in advance: where permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other laws; where necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property and obtaining the person's consent is difficult; where particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound development of children and obtaining consent is difficult; or where cooperation with a state organ or local government carrying out legally prescribed duties is necessary and obtaining consent could impede those duties.
6. Disclosure of Personal Information
When requested by the individual to disclose personal information, the Company will disclose it to the individual without delay. However, if disclosure would significantly impede the proper conduct of the Company's business, the Company may decline to disclose all or part of it, and will notify the individual without delay if it decides not to disclose.
7. Correction and Deletion
Where personal information held by the Company is incorrect, users may request the Company to correct, add, or delete it ("correction, etc.") through the procedure prescribed by the Company. If the Company determines it is necessary to comply, it will carry out the correction, etc. without delay.
8. Suspension of Use
If an individual requests suspension of use or erasure on the grounds that personal information is being handled beyond the scope of its purpose, or was obtained by improper means, the Company will conduct the necessary investigation without delay and carry out suspension of use, etc. to the extent necessary based on the results.
9. Changes to This Policy
Except for matters otherwise provided by law or in this Policy, the content of this Policy may be changed without notice to users. Except as otherwise provided by the Company, the revised Policy takes effect when posted on this website.
10. Contact
For inquiries regarding this Policy, please contact us using the contact details at the bottom of this page.
11. Use of Email Delivery Service
The Company uses the user's registered email address to send authentication codes and links for login and identity verification. An external email delivery service (Resend) may be used for this, and to that extent the email address passes through Resend's systems.
12. Handling of Words in the "Unsent Room"
Words a user records in the "unsent room" may contain highly private and sensitive content. The Company keeps these words securely protected so that only the user can view them. The words a user writes are never sent or delivered to the person they are addressed to, and are never disclosed to third parties, including other users, without the user's explicit consent. For checking content and for analysis provided to the user, the Company may use an external AI service (see the following section).
13. Publication to "Tonight's Sky" and AI Review
The Company uses an external AI service (Gemini, provided by Google LLC) to check content (moderation), to find words with similar feelings for display in "Tonight's Sky", and to provide reflections and analysis to the user. This processing is performed via the API, and the content sent is not used to train the AI model. Only excerpts the user has consented to publish, and that pass the review, are shown anonymously in "Tonight's Sky". As a result of the review, parts that could identify a specific individual are replaced with masking characters, and words deemed to contain threats, sexual or promotional content, or signs of self-harm are not published. The body text of the words is not stored in moderation records.
14. Handling of Payment Information
Payment for paid plans is processed through the payment service provided by Stripe, Inc. The Company does not retain credit card numbers or other payment information; it is securely processed by Stripe.
15. Use of Analytics
The Company uses Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect access information, but the information collected is anonymized and does not identify individuals. Users can choose whether to allow or decline Google Analytics via the consent banner shown when first using the Service; if declined, no analytics cookies or access information are collected. For details, please review Google's privacy policy and terms.
